Notarized Translation: Do Notaries Check Translation Accuracy?

Notarized translation is a specific type of official translation used internationally to ensure accountability, requiring certified and sometimes sworn translation. Only a Notary Public can notarize translations, which involves either notarizing a statement from the translator on translation accuracy or a statement on the authenticity of the original documents.
In Japan, notarization can be done by either notarizing the translated documents (if the notary provides English declarations) or notarizing the original documents first and then translating both the document and the notarization statement issued in Japanese.
